Afton Arms was started by Jaymie Smolens in September 2008 after his wife, Lynn, encouraged him to start a small gun shop overlooking Virginia’s Afton Mountain where the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Skyline Drive meet. Jaymie has a lifelong passion for beautifully crafted firearms, and while specializing in SIGSAUER, he has always focused on tactical and personal defense weapons. When Jaymie mentioned the idea to his Brother-in-Law Mike, He simply said "I'm in".
